Serie A clubs have written some of the most memorable chapters in European football, and Italian sides have won the continent’s biggest prize on many occasions.
AC Milan
AC Milan has won the European Cup or Champions League seven times, more than any other Italian club. Its teams of the late 1980s and early 1990s are still regarded as some of the greatest ever.
Inter Milan
Inter won the European Cup in 1964 and 1965 and returned to the top of the continent in 2010 with a treble-winning season under José Mourinho.
Juventus
Juventus has lifted the trophy twice, in 1985 and 1996, and has reached many finals. The club’s consistent presence in the latter stages has kept Italian football in the spotlight.
